Your Questions Pt. 4

What is your go-to, everyday wine? from Jen

My favourite kinds right now are Pinot Noirs & Beaujolais, mostly from 2007. They’re affordable and smooth. :)

What do you think you miss most about not living in a big city? from Bridget

I don’t think I miss anything! :) Winnipeg is about as much of any city that I would use, and while we might not get all the good concerts of have as many bars to choose from, I love it here. There is such an amazing arts community, and it’s such a welcoming place that’s incredibly affordable to live. I bought a house at 23! In most places that’s unheard of. I wouldn’t live here if I felt at a disadvantage.

What made you decide to start blogging in the first place? from Ashley

Probably an undiagnosed personality disorder. ;)

Honestly, it has just always been part of my life. I started my first blog when I was in junior high, and I have trouble seeing a time where this isn’t part of my life, and I’m looking forward to reading your blog well into my sixties. (No pressure!)

If you were in a plane crash and everyone on the plane were to be stranded in a deserted place – what role would you play in the group? The island builder? The hussy? The motherly one? And what role would Mister play? from Gill

I would definitely be the negotiator. I think that most conflict is mostly ego stuff, so if I was on a deserted island I would see sticking together and working things out as the best chance we would have for survival! I would be breaking up fights and talking everyone down from martial law.

When life gets overwhelming (as I’m sure it does Miss blogger, student, wife, puppy momma, employee, indie business owner, crafter, cook extraordinaire!), how do you de-stress? What calms you down and grounds you? from Hillary

The thing that makes me most relaxed is making time for the things I want to do. When I’m really stressed I tend cut out things that are stressing me, and then making the best with what’s left over. I take out books from the library so I can get lost, have bubble baths on weekend afternoons so I feel pampered, and go to yoga so I feel cared for and comfortable in my body. I make sure that I spill everything to Jesse and make a matinee movie date, and I cry when I need to, which is lots when I’m stressed.

When I’m feeling better I try to do something I’m really good at, like making a pie crust or writing an e-mail to a friend. Something that will make me feel like I got one good thing done, and that things are going to be okay :)

What are your top five pet peeves? from Ashley

1. Being late (I’m usually 5 minutes late for everything, it drives me up the wall)
2. Pulp in my OJ
3. Leggings as pants
4. Gratuitous use of lawn ornaments
5. Being cold, I’m a big comfort seeker! :)

What are your thoughts on having babies? I feel like I haven’t read anything one way or another – do you and Mister plan to bring little ones into the world someday? from Ashley

I definitely want to have babies someday! I feel like I need to want them with every inch of myself before I take that plunge, but I love kids and I’m really looking forward to starting a family someday :)
