Your Questions Pt. 4
What is your go-to, everyday wine? from Jen
My favourite kinds right now are Pinot Noirs & Beaujolais, mostly from 2007. They’re affordable and smooth. :)
What do you think you miss most about not living in a big city? from Bridget
I don’t think I miss anything! :) Winnipeg is about as much of any city that I would use, and while we might not get all the good concerts of have as many bars to choose from, I love it here. There is such an amazing arts community, and it’s such a welcoming place that’s incredibly affordable to live. I bought a house at 23! In most places that’s unheard of. I wouldn’t live here if I felt at a disadvantage.
What made you decide to start blogging in the first place? from Ashley
Probably an undiagnosed personality disorder. ;)
Honestly, it has just always been part of my life. I started my first blog when I was in junior high, and I have trouble seeing a time where this isn’t part of my life, and I’m looking forward to reading your blog well into my sixties. (No pressure!)
If you were in a plane crash and everyone on the plane were to be stranded in a deserted place – what role would you play in the group? The island builder? The hussy? The motherly one? And what role would Mister play? from Gill
I would definitely be the negotiator. I think that most conflict is mostly ego stuff, so if I was on a deserted island I would see sticking together and working things out as the best chance we would have for survival! I would be breaking up fights and talking everyone down from martial law.
When life gets overwhelming (as I’m sure it does Miss blogger, student, wife, puppy momma, employee, indie business owner, crafter, cook extraordinaire!), how do you de-stress? What calms you down and grounds you? from Hillary
The thing that makes me most relaxed is making time for the things I want to do. When I’m really stressed I tend cut out things that are stressing me, and then making the best with what’s left over. I take out books from the library so I can get lost, have bubble baths on weekend afternoons so I feel pampered, and go to yoga so I feel cared for and comfortable in my body. I make sure that I spill everything to Jesse and make a matinee movie date, and I cry when I need to, which is lots when I’m stressed.
When I’m feeling better I try to do something I’m really good at, like making a pie crust or writing an e-mail to a friend. Something that will make me feel like I got one good thing done, and that things are going to be okay :)
What are your top five pet peeves? from Ashley
1. Being late (I’m usually 5 minutes late for everything, it drives me up the wall)
2. Pulp in my OJ
3. Leggings as pants
4. Gratuitous use of lawn ornaments
5. Being cold, I’m a big comfort seeker! :)
What are your thoughts on having babies? I feel like I haven’t read anything one way or another – do you and Mister plan to bring little ones into the world someday? from Ashley
I definitely want to have babies someday! I feel like I need to want them with every inch of myself before I take that plunge, but I love kids and I’m really looking forward to starting a family someday :)
Being late stresses me out to no end! I’m always the person who’s there 5-10 minutes early just in case.
I definitely see you as the negotiator. :)
oh gosh, being late makes me absolutely crazy. it’s one of my least favourite things in the world!
BEING LATE! WIth every fiber of my being. Don’t be late to my event or I will be piiiissed. ;) My brother’s girlfriend is chronically late and it drives me up a wall.
On a happier note, I am drinking Pinot Noir. My fave. :)
i went to the library and got 3 books just last week. im on the last one. i read fast, but it is DEFINITELY a way for me to de-stress. i’ve needed it so badly lately.
thanks for another fun round of Q&A. its fun to get to know you better. :)
All right–I’m convinced! Find me a cute little house, a job as a science teacher, and I’m moving! :) Just kidding…but not that far off. Grass is always greener, I suppose…
I really like your answer about wanting babies. Oh, and I’d love to be stuck on an island with you because we definitely would need a negotiator (ahaha) and you’d be the best person for that!
Post twins today! Haha. Well kinda, except mine is a vlog.
Also, I HATE pulp in my OJ too. So gross.
i’m opposite in terms of pulp in OJ. :) i love it. i prefer it. it makes me feel like my orange juice was squeezed fresh. :P
LOVED to learn more about you… and about the things we have in common: leggins as pants = big no no! I also don’t like pulp in my OJ… it’s a drink, not food! ;)
We definitely have some of the same pet peeves! I REALLY hate being late and I will only drink pulp-free OJ. :)
“want them with every inch of myself” – love this! So true!
I lol’d at the leggings as pants comment. I can’t stand it when people do that! And pulp in my OJ is just so gross. Glad we are on the same wavelength there!
Being late is def my #1 pet peeve. And if I feel like I might be late, I almost have a panic attack… Being prompt is a BIG deal to me. :) And really, I agree with all of those pet peeves!
These were fun questions/answers to read!!
I hate pulp in OJ as well! Ah, we were destined to be friends.
