Weekly Weak Knees no. 13
One of the new features on my site is that I have a “currently loving” section in my sidebar where every day or so I pop in an image and link to something I can’t pass by without sharing. It’s a pretty feature that feels like I’m passing notes to anyone who checks my blog every day, and I hope you enjoy it enough to make it part of your routine!
Every other week I’m going to share what I’ve been featuring in a post so you can catch any that you’ve missed- welcome to the new Weekly Weak Knees! :)
Delicious looking beetroot crisps with fennel salt seem like a perfectly simple & luxurious fall snack [appledrane]
Make your crochet projects more refined and classy with a beautiful storage pouch for your hooks [namolio]
These sailor stripes on an infinity scarf make one of my favourite cozy accessories for the fall even better! [madewell]
Great side by side showing how simple making beautiful shaped bokeh can be [Sarai]
A saccharine way to keep your apples from bruising. Do you think it makes them taste sweeter? :) [coco rose1]
Special thanks to reader & new friend Sophia for sending me a pattern for these! xo
That’s a really nice idea! I love sharing things with people, like, soooo much. That’s why I started a tumblr AND a twitter account…”just” a blog and Facebook wasn’t enough for me.
Those beet crisps look so yummy and delicious. I can’t wait to try them out. Thanks Kyla!

I NEED one of those apple cozies in my life! Oh my! Wonder where I can find a pattern!
Confession: I have never come anywhere near a beet.
Aww! Those apple cozies are so adorable. And I love the crochet pouch.
Well the minute I saw it on your currently loving I just had to share the “secret” with you … haha.
I’ll be checking to see whether you’ve posted a pic of your own handmade apple cosy ;)
God knows I have to try one too. I will let you know :)

Thanks again, Sophia! I searched through my email and only had your old link- I wasn’t sure if your site had been launched yet! I’ve updated the post with your new blog :)
Thank you Kyla, you’re great :)
And about the pattern, it was really a pleasure
I LOVE beets so those crisps made my mouth water. Too bad the link doesn’t show a recipe :(
If you read the entry he does say how he made them, he’s just *super* casual about it! They’re made by slicing them finely and frying them up, but the ratios for the salt are a mystery ;)
I saw that but I wonder if he pre-cooked or roasted the beets before frying them! I suppose I can experiment :)
That scarf is pretty much the perfect thing. I wish I was in colder weather… ;)
I am currently knitting an infinity scarf right now! They are one of my homemade gifts this year! The beet crisps look delicious.
That apple cosy is adorable! Mollie Makes is really good for crochet actually; that apple cosy is what made me pick up the craft in fact.
Okay that apple cozy is just darling! The crochet bag is pretty gorgeous too, you could use it as an evening clutch! Hope you’re having a fabulous Friday and enjoying the classic fall weather we’re having :)
XO

I want that scarf. <3 Favorite color combo (one of 'em) and just the prettiness and coziness, mmmm! Also, I want my apples to have little sweaters! *flail*
I’ve been dying to try the create your own bokeh! I need a new lens first, though.. but it looks like it’ll be tons of fun!
I love this series! I don’t think I realized how often you update the “Currently Loving” section. I really appreciate such dedicated bloggers like you, lady. Loving the scarf you have pictured here. I’m so excited it’s finally getting to be a little cooler here in Texas. As soon as it drops to 80 degrees, I am busting out the scarves. Haha. :) Happy Friday!!
Great idea for the new Weekly Weak Knees!! I love these features, and those beet crisps look ah-mazing. I’ve always wondered why people would bother to make an apple cozy, I never knew they kept them from bruising! I’ve been coveting a dehydrator lately.. I wonder how those beet crisps would work dehydrated and sprinkled with salt for a non-fried version? I must make a note to try this sometime :) Happy Friday!
I actually had to google “what is an apple cozy FOR anyway?” before I found the thought behind the craft. Some of these pretty things are just aesthetic, but it’s even nicer neat when there’s function too :)
And a dehydrated version would be so healthy and interesting to try- what a great idea Kim!! I hope you get one so you can experiment, it sounds like you’d have a lot of fun with that :)
I’ll follow up when I get one and try it out!
I’ve been wanting a dehydrator lately too, I know you can do pretty much the same thing in your oven on the lowest setting but most seem to think it’s not quite the same.
:)
Oh, I didn’t realize you could use an oven! Have you tried it before, Alexis?
