Week Three
Every day at the studio, there’s a beautiful painted metal xylophone that sits inside of a beautiful little mid-century bookcase we got in the late fall. It’s directly in my line of sight, and I’ve fallen hard for its colours and the simple design! I knew I had to try to catch it with my Diana when I started my lomo project.
When I have kids I would love for them to play with simple vintage toys like this over the kinds of toys that are around today. I have visions of Tinkertoys (I loved those!) and handmade dollhouses, and Jesse’s already set on having them grow up playing his SNES. This is one of those issues that I’m glad we made sure we were on the same page about while we were still dating, because everyone has their own set of “correct” answers for their heart.
Other key relationship items for us were:
– Road Trips vs. Big Destination Trips (Road trips!)
– Dogs vs Cats (Dogs!)
– A Night Out vs. A Night In (In!)
– Horror Movies vs. Action Movies (Action!)
– Indian Food vs Mexican Food (Trick Question! It’s whichever is closest.)
Oh, it’s lovely! :) And I love your relationship-keys list! It sounds pretty similar to ours, though I never thought about the vintage toy point – it’s right up our alley!
Lovely!!! I love vintage toys!
I hear ya, Jen and I are totally on the same page for our future children. And I love that y’all want to take road trips!!! So do we!!! Except we do plan on driving quite a long distance like Utah to Florida, etc. with our kids. But we plan on simple road trips too!!!
Also nights in > nights out ANYDAY!
Have a lovely day!
I love that picture, it’s so dreamy! I love this photo project you’re doing, i think it’s a great idea and I really look forward to seeing your pictures each week.
I feel so lame because I’ve never had indian food! I seriously need to try it soon.
Dogs are far superior to cats. Just sayin’. ;)
Yes! To vintage toys. I grew up playing with old wooden toys that had belonged to my mother and aunts. They were among my favorites.
Great photo! I too love the colors. How awesome would it be for your future kids to play SNES?? Love it :)
Lovely picture. It’s very dream-like.
Target had some simple wooden toys in the dollar racks at Christmas time. I got my nephew a wooden xylophone and an alligator that you pull on a string.
haha! Love the trick question. Love the photo, very pretty! ^.^ xo.
trick question! haha, i’m the same way – just point me in the direction of the nearest restaurant and i’m good :)
The light looks like water rippling in a pond, it’s really beautiful.
