Wedding DIY: Stockings
As the days to the wedding have been creeping closer and closer I’ve started thinking more about what I’m going to be wearing other than my wedding dress on The Day Of. Never mind that it hasn’t even remotely hit me that I’m going to be a Mrs. as of next Saturday.
Would I wear stockings? Would I just go with the shoes and call it a day? When we were down in the USA a few weeks ago I couldn’t help but sneak into Victoria’s Secret. I so wish we had one in my city! I had one purpose in mind: garter and stockings. I came out with a bit of a haul…but when I got home a full 4 hours away from Victoria’s Secret I realized that I had bought stay up stockings instead of the ones with a garter attachments!!
CURSES!!!
Being a resourceful kid, I ran into my craft room and found some blue ribbon, a needle and thread. And I sat down to work.
I think they make a really charming something blue.
Adding a little last minute drama, yesterday I had my first, and hopefully my last, allergic reaction. Something I had touched had me break into full body hives, forcing me to leave work and then return two hours later completely drugged. I was covered in red goosebumps from my torso all the way up my chest, neck and face. The drugs seem to have helped, but here’s hoping this gets in hand over the next couple days!
I could totally wear a white turtleneck under my dress. Figure skater chic is in, right? Right guys?
I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow.
Just wanted to say that I am thinking about you, and I hope everything goes beautifully.
I really like the stockings. And I hope your hives heal in time, because while turtlenecks are wicked comfortable, they lack that certain oomph that says, “this is a FORMAL event.”
When is the wedding?
God I hope that’s not true.
(both you having to wear a turtleneck and ‘figure skater chic’ being an actual thing)
Haha, you crack me up! I can’t believe how creative you are!
Those are adorable! I hope the allergies are better. Although full jumper suits? Totally wedding appropriate if not.
You’re so crafty. Good luck with the allergic grossness :(
I LOVE how you have such neat DIY craft solutions for every wedding apparel related nightmare :)
Hey ohhhhhhhhhhh! You’re so smart.
those are beyond cute, hope the hives go down quickly. I’m so glad your bach. party went well, so glad it turned out to be one of those perfect nights.
First the bra issue and now the stockings…you are awesome Miss Kyla Bea!
adorable!
PS – is it bad that I’ve completely ignored the “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” tradition? I just can’t be bothered!
And this is why I need a craft room (and then need to find the crafty gene – it’s in there somewhere). I love your little blue tags. Very cool!
