Vintage Finds & A Little Space
The best part of moving from my tiny little craft room into a big, bright working space has definitely been the decorating. There’s still a lot to do but once it’s painted and arranged a little, I’m going to give you a tour! I’ve been looking for some vintage pieces to add some more character to my space and this weekend I got really lucky. I went out to a vintage sale hosted by Jill from Lune Vintage where she was selling some of the wares from her previous studio. It was heavenly! I grabbed some great finds for my studio space- a pretty little blue throw, a weird and wonderful bird for the portrait wall I’m making (can’t wait to show you!), and a vintage typewriter that makes me weak at the knees.
I love tucking little pieces of inspiration wherever I can, and my new typewriter is going to hold my favourite quotes.
The best thing about this weekend was giving myself some space to just have fun, catch up with friends, and rest up. There has been a lot going on lately, including some big changes that I’ll be writing about tomorrow, and I have a big week planned- including joining in on a local art project, knit night, and my first solo road trip! The end of August is going to be incredible, even if I can’t wrap my head around how the summer is already ending. This year has gone by faster than any I can remember!
With so much on the horizon, a lazy Sunday full of inventing new crochet projects, tea, baguettes and fancy cheese was exactly what I needed.
Did you get what you needed this weekend?
If not, I bet that a baguette would be a step in the right direction :)
baguette! baguette! those always make anything better.
love the crochet, keep it up!
for a minute there, I thought for sure you had made the throw. i was about to get jealous of your crochet skills.
I adore the typewriter!
I wanted sleep this past weekend. I got it, but it wasn’t necessarily good sleep. I think the elevation difference between Florida and Tennessee caused me to be a bit woozy the first few days home, so I was lightheaded and cranky. I’m trying to catch up, though, so hopefully I’ll be back to happy by the end of the week. :)
What a cute typewriter!! That’s such a great find!!
I love the typewriter!
I knew about the typewriter, but that bird?! I LOVE it!! So glad that you found what you needed this weekend. I had a lot of fun this past weekend, but what I’m really looking forward to is this coming weekend. =)
Oh, baguettes are my favorite. One of my ultimate comfort foods. :)
Excited to hear about your big changes tomorrow!
That typewriter = LOVE. So so cute.
Decorating is so fun! :) I can’t wait to see what your space looks like once you’re finished. It sounds like you had a great weekend! I’m jealous you got to go to Jill’s sale, ha!
Oh goodness, typewriters are my favorite!
I love your blog! i stumbled upon it today and I’m addicted! so adorable!
Ooooo, yes the typewriter is gorgeous. I’ve never heard of a “Simpsons” one though…hopefully it’s not the show ;)
the summer is not ending! NOT ENDING! ahem.
Hey Kyla! Thanks for coming to visit me. I’m glad you found some things to love! It makes me happy that you have them now :-D
I got exactly what I needed this weekend … plenty of time with Sweets, my family and other loved ones! Can’t wait to hear about your independent travel!!!!! ;)
Love that throw! They always remind me of my grandmother. In a good way.
I can’t wait to see your design space! So exciting!!!
That baguette is drool-worthy!
such a successful vintage trip – I love when that happens!! That typewriter is so great – perfect for an office!! Adds so much character…as does the bird :)
That typewriter is so beautiful! It reminds me of Hunter S. Thompson, but with much, MUCH more class!
I’m so jealous of your typewriter! I’ve been on the lookout for one for myself for awhile. :)
And you know what? I did get what I needed this weekend, for the most part anyway. Time with friends & a good day with someone special…very nice.
xoxo!
I love that throw! I can’t wait to put more time back into knitting this fall/winter. And yes – I got exactly what I needed this weekend! I got out and into a new place on Saturday night, and spent yesterday out and about in the sunlight, buying some new fall pieces, and ending the night with the traditional Sunday potluck with friends here who are becoming increasingly real and important and major blessings in my life here. :)
Can’t wait to see your craft room tour!
Your weekend sounds just lovely and I love the vintage finds (especially the crocheted throw! :))
And I agree, this year is going by so fast… it’s hard to catch your breath!
A post full of such cuteness!! Your granny square afghan looks amazing <3
I’ve been wanting a vintage typewriter! Love it!
I toured a few local wineries this weekend with a friend visiting from London, Ontario!
Well, I got some good rest. And some quality time with Jack. And my text books and finally caught up (a little) on my netflix queue so yes, I got some good things this past weekend! I’m so excited and ready for our trip to see each other this weekend!!!!
Love the vintage typewriter, beautiful!
Well, I needed a great 18 mile run and I got that, so I can not complain. And I worked an overtime event where I got $10 for every file I worked on, and I earned enough to buy some fall boots or maybe a new pair of jeans.
Can’t wait to see your design space! :)
And can’t wait to see YOU on Friday!
Oooh, can’t wait to see pictures! I needed a baby fix this weekend and I definitely got it!
I love the typewriter.. and love the polaroid pics. I’ve got to take more with mine…
That typewriter is so awesome.
