After months of dedicated growing out the sides of my super short pompadour cut (flash back!!) I’ve made a discovery- my hair is long enough to use a curling iron on! It’s been long enough to wrap around a curling iron for some time, but I couldn’t make it an every day choice without thoroughly burning myself when I attempted it… until now!
It’s unseasonably, beautifully warm in Winnipeg right now but it’s still snowy and icy- enough to need a winter boot. Every winter I buy a pair of cute boots and by the spring salt stains and slush has absolutely ruined them, no matter how many different waterproofing products I use. It’s the worst! This year I decided to try my hardest to find something colourful, fashionable and durable. And I have good news…
Ive finally found my perfect winter shoe!!!
/passes out from excitement
I just discovered Native Shoes and as soon as I saw their colours features I was hooked. Their shoes are vegan, washable, water resistant, odor resistant, shock absorbent in a way I cant really describe unless you wear them (ah-maaazing) and are crazy vivid and colourful. And they have so many colours styles! Mine are a Fitzsimmons in Scuba Green, the exact shade of my most favourite teal.
They did a collaboration with Marc Jacobs this fall are one of my favourite purchases in the past year (already) and I needed to pass on the word. I can’t wait to get a super vivid colour in a summer style that I can wear hard trust to not fall apart on me. At last!
Oh- and because I can’t do any shoot without a healthy dose of laughter & antics I had to share a quick outtake :)
Adorable!! The whole outfit is too cute, but I like your facial expressions during the photos are even more fun. Those shoes are pretty amazing!!
Oh, how I love that you and I share some style juju. Just when I find myself feeling icky about my constant jeans, cardigan and scarf repetoire, here you come to remind me why I love it so. Not to mention providing incredible tattoo inspiration.. I adore the look of your sleeve peeking out of the cardigan. Love, love, love. You’re my winter inspiration today!! Yeah!
These shoes are amazing! Definitely brighten up the cold winter! Just wondering where you bought them- I checked out things online, but want to avoid shipping costs if I can.. (I live in the middle of nowhere northern Ontario, so Winnipeg is one of my shopping cities)
sweet kicks. Is kicks the right word for shoes? I’m working on my ultra-hip lingo. oops, i just ruined it with that “ultra-hip” thing. I think I have told you already that I love your hair but too bad, you have to hear it again…I love your hair! The little curls are so sweet.
have a great day kyla!
Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! I love the whole look, head to toe! Hooray for cute shoes!

You’re so cute!
Your hair is looking lovely!! And those shoes are great! Very cool outfit post!
I’m always looking for winter boots! Thanks for the tip!
LOVE the colors! Purple and teal are some of my faves. Your hair looks fabulous, too. :)
Cute!!
And these photos are beautiful.
You are too adorable for words! Love the hair color – it just suits you! And the outtakes are awesome!!! miss you! xoxo
Your hair looks super cute! I love the color, for years I tried to maintain red but at the time I was also swimming multiple times a week in chlorine, it was hopeless! :)
LOVE these boots! That’s my favorite color, too. Will definitely be looking into this.
Thanks for sharing! And very cute photos, too. I like your style.
you look gorgeous, love this look
LOVE your hair color! The boots are very cute. Turquoise is my favorite color, so I might have to get me some. I love the headband as well. The whole look is very cute!
Your hair is so adorable! I’ve had short hair for years and was starting to grow it a little longer again… until my recent trip to the hairdresser. Part if me wishes I kept some of that length. :)
Those shoes look fab! Love the vibrant blue.
goodness those are seriously the coolest shoes ever! that’s my favorite color. and you look so cute on the fence :)
LOVE the shoes. I am all for colorful shoes!
This is so adorable! Also, your hair mixed with the blue tones in these photos looks fabulous.
Oh, your hair is just perfection! Love the color and love the length. I saw your new photo on twitter, too, and it just reminded me that you’re just the prettiest.
Love the photoshoot!
Oh, my! Those sure are some adorable shoes. Adore the colour, absolutely. I love the black (maybe dark blue?) accents. Possibly the only thing that makes me wish we had more snow during UK winters (you can take the girl out of Australia, but she won’t cope with proper winter!).
Ohmygosh, I love the color of those boots! <3
I clearly need to own a pair. Chicago winters are not kind to my favorite leather boots!
You are too cute!
I love this color! I just got some bright neon pink top-siders myself, love.
This outfit is adorable. And it’s funny because I have been pondering this whole winter about the perfect snow shoe. Fashion boots are uncomfortable and winter boots are too chunky. These look quite perfect! I’ll definitely have to look in to it.
Love the boots :) I’ve been on the hunt for a cute (and affordable!) pair of boots all year with no luck. It’s a good thing we’ve had hardly any snow this year :)
Where have those boots been for the last 5 winters?!?! The cordova red is killing me. And they’re affordable too!
AMAZING! These would be perfect in Victoria too! Thanks for the heads up, I have a real hard time finding awesome non-leather winter shoes.
I love the way you look! That’s really positive way :) Big smail, lovely colors (turquoise) :)
You are adorable! Love these photos and the shoes!!
Your hair is rocking a seriously good hue at the moment (shoes look great too!)
