House Love: Poured Glass

As of Friday I am pleased to announced that out computers are cooking with gas! Or running on power! Or something! The electricians came and went, which meant that over the weekend I could upload all of my photo binging from the past month and start spamming you fine people with it.

In fact you should probably stay tuned for a photo-centric surprise this week! But my first order of business is the things I love most about our new home…

Adored Home Item Number One: The Windows

I stood in the living room or dining room, looking out at the front porch about 4 minutes after we had taken possession. I was elated. I was…having trouble seeing outside? Had I take off my glasses? I had to move closer to the window to see it, but immediately knew what was wrong with my vision. The huge window in the front room that was the size of me? It was a hundred year old original poured glass window.

See the imperfections?

Standing inside the imperfections move as you move, giving the outside world a hazy, underwater look that adds to the feeling of calm and separation from the neighborhood. In our dining room we have the original piano window, lead lined and shining out from the wood trim.

100 Year Old Piano Window

It’s the perfect living room to have a big cup of tea in, or to cozy up in during the fall, and I’m looking forward to both.
