The Next Stretch

Can we talk about how wonderful it is to be able to write about everything that’s happened in the last little while? I’ve become much more involved with Freckled Nest, found and rented a beautiful studio, and shopped for all the vintage pieces that would fit our space! Never mind the process of deciding to make my full time living from creative work! The past weeks have been wild and exciting beyond words. I’ve been asking questions and making decisions that I’ve never encountered before, putting in crazy hours, and asking myself what kind of a life I want to have.

And the only conclusion I’ve been able to reach is this: no one learns to fly without taking a leap of faith. Just thinking about January, or our beautiful studio, or being around Leigh-Ann and Jill so much makes me smile and feel butterflies in my stomach, like so much of what I’ve been working for and dreaming of is just waiting for me around the corner.

Over the next month I’m going to be trying to put everything I can into this last stretch of my big balancing act between my online and offline life, so I can finally bring them together! I’ll be working hard, trying to be really kind to myself while I’m working long hours and am working on letting things slide when I need to. I’ve been falling in love with knitting and crochet all over again, so I’m going to make sure I making time for that and reading on my kindle, seeing friends and enjoying a low key holiday so I can tackle the new year with as much energy as I can muster.

And for the record, being kind to myself? Totally involves lots of bubble baths and chocolate cake. I’m still working retail at Christmas, so when I do have down time, I intend to make it count :)

In the coming weeks I’m going to be showing some of the steps along the way to building our studio, and talking a little about how I’m going to be making my creative life work. Thank you so much for your support, and I can’t wait to take you on this new journey!
