Thanks for all the lovely encouragement on yesterday’s post! In the past few months the organization geek that I am has started coming out in my posts, and it’s been really fun to share that side of myself a little more. It sounded like there were more than a few people who wanted to see my manicure and I’m more than happy to share!

I made the diagonal by painting a straight line from the middle of one side of my nail down to the tip, and then drew a the diagonal line using the edge of that line as my guide. Once I had that line I just filled it in. I think I’m going to start wearing all my nail polish like this!

Then I realized that if I already had the camera, why not do an outfit post and cross one of my summer goals off my list?

(Because I’m shy? lol)

Luckily I really love crossing things off list, and I’m not as self conscious as I used to be :)

This outfit is a good example of my style and what I’m most comfortable in. I love wearing skinny jeans, and Cheap Monday’s are the only kind that I wear anymore. They’re high rise designer Swedish jeans that cost under $100! They’re infuriatingly difficult to find in Canada, but I just found another place I can buy them and they were my birthday present to myself. Each pair lasts me 3-4 years, and I love knowing they’re going to fit the same way and look great every time. They’re one of my big indulgences.

Shirt: Urban Planet
Jeans: Cheap Monday
Shoes: Sparkly Toms

I’ve been working hard on buying clothes that only work with my body type, and after my great Personal Style Re-Evaluation of 2011 I realized that I owned a lot of shirts that were just a bit too clingy, when I prefer clothes that skim over me instead of hanging onto me. This was one of the only “tighter” shirt that I kept in my closet, because no matter how hard I try, I can’t stop loving its sailor stripes and rouched shoulders.

My other big present to myself this year was two pairs of Toms– and I adore them! Mine fit completely true to size and are my new favourites to wear all the time. Everything you’ve read about them is true! If you’re stalking them, I definitely recommend taking the plunge.

Special thanks to my very hairy photography assistants, Ash  & Mal.
