Interview Alert: I’m talking with (& about!) Your Super Awesome Life
Whew! I thought that I was going to have lots of time to post last week before my trip to California for the Stratejoy Elevate Mastermind kick off weekend retreat, and life picked me up and swept me away. The retreat was incredible (since how could a spa weekend in California with soulful, hilarious women who want to make the next year their best ever not be amazing??) and I have a re-cap post brewing complete with more pictures that you can shake a stick at.
In the mean time, yesterday I was hanging out with Ashley at Your Super Awesome Life, talking about what my version of a super awesome life looks like, how I became my own boss and carved out online work, and what living with intention means to me. We also dream up changes for the world and imagine who would play me in the movie of my life.
Check it out!
Let’s talk: Who would play you in the movie of your life?
I would try to trick Carey Mulligan into playing me, but only if her hair people we part of the deal. Pixie cuts are so cute, but you need a committee to keep that situation in order. Let’s be real.
Great interview Kyla. I’d want Kristen Bell to play me, mostly because I just love her. But she’d have to dye her hair dark. :)
In a movie… definitely Katee Sackhoff. She played Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on Battlestar Galactica and that character was so much like me, in every way, that I could easily see her playing *me*. I also love her attitude out of character, and everything she does. Finally, we look a titch alike!
I love your answer to the last question, “Considering the alternative.”
I would always say to myself especially when I was dealing with depression and fear, “I’ve just got to make changes because what I am doing right now doesn’t seem to be working for me. There is no alternative but to change. There just isn’t.”
Now that I am on the other side of things I think your answer is just perfect!
Great interview!
I would definitely have Blake Lively play me in my life movie. Not because we look or act anything alike but because she is my same height and looks killer in heels! Carey Mulligan is PERFECT to portray you!
And I read your interview yesterday on Super Awesome Life and LOVED it. So awesome to see some of my favorite ladies working together!
I commented on the post yesterday, what a great interview! I love to read your insights on working in a creative field. I’m a stay at home mom, and there’s a part of me that in addition to pouring myself into family life, I want to create, write, and help people. Just waiting patiently for l’éclair de génie so to speak.
Thanks for doing what you do. It’s inspiring. Just remember that in moments when self-doubt and anxiety come around.
Kyla! Thanks so much for dropping by Your Super Awesome Life yesterday. It was so fun to chat about your journey and how far you’ve come. You’re welcome back anytime!
I would have Keri Russell play me in a movie about my life. Sure I don’t have her super curly hair and my experience while in university was nothing like Felicity’s, my life was semi-awkward like hers. Trying to find her place in this world, who she wants to be… minus pining over Ben and Noel.
So I guess then it would be Keri Russell as Felicity playing me.
