In The Home Stretch
It’s been a crazy end to a crazy month, and while I’m short on time I couldn’t let another day pass without a long overdue blog update. In the past week, I drove to Minneapolis, watched my husband run his first adventure race and rank in the top 200 of 7000 (!!), explored new restaurants in St. Paul, had pints of beer delivered by room service just to be decadent, fit a week’s worth of client work into three days, avoided catching a virus that took down my husband, business partner, & our customer service manager, caught a detail in a contract that would have derailed getting our mortgage at the last minute, and have been prepping to move to a new house in two days.
And I even did laundry & the dishes sometimes!
We all have times where doing the daily things is a huge struggle, but I’m both mystified and incredibly thankful that all the resistance that would usually be lined up behind all the things that need to get done has taken a break so I can get things looked after in time for our move.
I’ve been brimming with pictures, project ideas, and blog ideas to share here and I can’t wait until the move is over so I can dive into all of them. For now I wanted to say that everything’s going well and I’ll be back next week. The internet gets hooked up on Sunday morning, and all that time I’ve spent doing dishes every week until then? I have a dishwasher in the new house! That time is going to be spent creating from here on out.
I can hardly wait :)
xo, k.
I am so glad you are moved in and settling. I know I despise moving and in fact I still have boxes tucked away in a spare room from my move back in February! EEK! Sounds like you really prepared though and got through it!
Welcome home!!
hope you enjoyed the twin cities! I call it home :)
Hope the move went smoothly – so excited for you!
I’m moving from Calgary to a little city called Okotoks and I’m the MOST excited for my dishwasher!!! :) Glad I could help with the cleaning while you pack tip! I’m excited to see your new place.
I live about three hours from the twin cities on the Wisconsin side! I definitely love that area!
What an exciting trip to Minneapolis!
I’m in a similar boat of moving–it’s stressful but I’m excited for all my ideas and the possibilities.
Wow, busy girl!
My dishwasher is one of my favourite things in the world. I don’t mind doing dishes by hand (it’s relaxing sometimes, actually), but when my schedule gets crazy it’s so nice to be able to load up the dishes and let the machine do the rest.
Now go move into your new house and take some pictures, ok?
Awww! Just reading it, is exhausting!
It’s all so exciting, congrats to Jessie also!
Good luck on your move, pretty exciting time.
Looking forward to seeing pics.
Ahh! So exciting!
Good luck doll! Sending you lots of good vibes!
Good luck with the move! What a whirlwind experience this has been for you. I can’t wait to see pictures of your new space. I hope the move goes as smoothly as it can. How exciting!
And I am so glad you dodged the virus that wiped everyone else out!
Oh! Good luck with your move! And congrats to your husband! That placement is awesome! 7,000?! Wow! And beer room service?! Awesome! I would do that too :)
Btw, I love your new blog design! I loved your banner before, but the simplicity now is perfect! (Sorry if it’s been changed for a while… I’ve been slacking on my blog reading with all that wedding business last month…)
