Friday Finds have Wandering Souls
The week has been wild and Leigh-Ann is safely away on her trip to Elsie’s wedding and then on to San Francisco! The theme of the week has definitely been travel, and getting ready to manage the business on my own until the end of May has been really exciting.
This Friday Finds is taking a page from my week and is hitting the road! I love traveling and can’t help be swept away by the idea of packing up vintage luggage, getting into a car with whitewall tires and traveling to teepee motels and chrome edged diners…

I’ve been thinking about a couple potential small trips, but I’m still not completely decided. One thing’s for sure- I can’t believe that it’s already been a year since my giant road trip to the grand canyon and the west coast!

You and I would make fabulous travel buddies – all of that sounds amazing!!
As for my summer travel plans, I am going to pretend to be rich while visiting Hilton Head, SC for a week and hopefully going to London at the end of August for a week.
Road trip sounds like so much fun.
I have one trip that I am planning. my boyfriend is going on a work trip to Vanuatu and I plan on meeting him there for a few days. Not quite a road trip, but man, will it be gorgeous!
I’m going to my sister’s wedding in Canmore in June-then my bf’s sister’s wedding in Mexico in November. There’s so many other things I’m looking forward to. I’m doing a 4 week poi spinning workshop next month, the online photo class Unraveling, a weekend yoga workshop with David Swenson in august, and I got tickets to see Beirut in Toronto in august too!
my grandma had that avocado green suitcase! in fact, she had the whole set…hmm, where is that stuff? summer travel plans? believe it or not it’s disneyland this summer. olivia picked it as her last official summer family vacation. i was surprised – we pretty much gave her free reign to pick anything {within reason}. so anaheim…here we come!
I love planning trips! the only thing we’ve planned this summer so far is a quick weekend to Hilton Head Island, SC and an anniversary weekend in Savannah, GA. I’m thrilled about Savannah because I’ve heard it is fantastic but have never been. we may do some camping too. I have 2 friends moving to dubai in the fall to teach and I’d love to save $$$ to visit them next spring!!
I feel like everyone is going to SanFran lately but me! Jealous.
It’s hard to get time off in the summer in my industry, so my biggest travel plans are camping trips and time at friends’ cabins on the weekends. I can’t complain though, it’s going to be a good summer!
We’re going to California for the week to visit friends, family and the beach. We’ve rented the most adorable beach house in my old college town and I’ll get to show Mr. Darcy around my old haunts, soak up the sun, and listen to the peals of laughter and delight from the Boardwalk. I can’t wait!
Travelling is one of my favorite “hobbies”, unfortunately it’s so expensive and you have to have the time. This summer I am probably not going anywhere, because I am writing the thesis to graduate. Last summer I did a roadtrip with my boyfriends around Europe (From Italy, to Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Belgium and France). It was the most wonderful experience ever and I am so looking forward to doing it again some day.
The little torches remind me so much of my childhood, we had a light blue one.
I hope you will find some nice place to visit. =)
Have a great weekend!
Juliette
Hi Kyla! Just found your blog this week and I’m officially obsessed! Love all the pretty things you post. You are super rad and I love reading about you and your friends! I especially appreciate your posts on quitting your job. I’m a teacher that is being laid off because of budget cuts (I live in the state where The Terminator is our Governator…EMBARASSING!) and I’m considering being a chef…we’ll see where it takes me. Choosing a creative passion over anything is pretty hard.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
