Friday Finds are Setting Sail
The prairies have been so beautiful lately that I’ve been feeling like it’s the perfect time for a little getaway. I would love to take a train to a beach for the weekend, and spend my time reading and wearing a large sun hat and laughing with friends. Preferably everything would be in sepia tones and I’d have a new sun dress from Anthropologie that I somehow didn’t have to pay for, and any pop that I wanted would be readily available in a real glass bottle. And while it would be warm there would always be a perfect breeze, and while there would be a breeze, if we were at the beach there wouldn’t be enough of a breeze to get sand stuck in the binding of my book. And there would be so many vegan and vegetarian options at the food stands that I would be overwhelmed by the choices!
It would be the perfect day that only exists in a daydream :)

Where is somewhere you’ve always wanted to travel?
I’ve always wanted to sail on a real ship- one with a mast and sails, where you can climb up the rigging! But I think I would only want to go for an afternoon or an overnight, somehow I don’t think there would be as much vegetarian food to choose from as there is at my daydream beach!
I’ve always wanted to travel to Iceland!!! I’m just dyyyying to go there someday!!! It’s practically an obsession. And after seeing photos of Norway, I’ve added that to the trip, too. I must go there. The beauty just blows my mind!
Your weekend getaway sound amazing. I would love to do something like that.
I love it how you use the word ‘pop’!! i call it that too and i always get laughed at!! me, i’m desperate to go Tibet , but i’d happily settle for cornwall! X
I’m blown away by how perfect that day sounds. So, so amazing.
love it here!!
so clean and nice. It makes me forget about the heat outside! :)
I have always wanted to travel to Spain and stay in a beautiful stucco house that overlooks the beach and through the windows I can feel the ocean breeze, hear birds and a guitar somewhere far off in the distance. At night the stone patio would have oversized Christmas lights and we would all drink margaritas and dance until the sun came up. PERFECT!
Ahh, that sounds so magical. And, I love all of the Etsy finds. I agree, the Prairies have been just beautiful these days. I’m so happy it’s finally getting warm out!
after i moved to toronto and met my fiancee, who is brazilian, and had only been living in canada for 2 years, i suddenly have a fixation with travelling to brazil….
now i have to go, to meet my new family-to-be!
(only trouble is, none of them speak any english…)
other than brazili, nYC and australia are high on the richter for me. :)
I love this Friday Finds theme. Getting away from everything is something that we all need to do at some point. Yesterday I felt the overwhelming urge to run away, so I did. To my friends. In the city. Its been fabulous. I love the prints in this collage.
I simply love the theme for your ‘Friday Finds’ this week! Next week I’m headed off to the beach and all of these finds are so dreamy and remind me of my upcoming vacation! I love the starfish headband. How cute would that be to don while frolicking around on the sandy dunes?! -sigh- Lovely!
<3
Ahh! I love this post! Aaand, possibly unknown fact about me, my dream car is a ’57 Chevy Bel Air. *Sigh*
oh my god! i love the treasure map dress. so cute. i like all these picks. a nice little collection :)
There are tons of places I want to see – domestically, and internationally, but anywhere really, as long as it has mountains I’m good to go!
I would love, love, love to visit Russia someday–specifically St. Petersburg and maybe do the Transiberian rail line. Someday!
I want to go everywhere! It’s always impossible for me to answer that question, haha! What I’ve most wanted to do in recent years is get an airstream trailer & road-trip around the USA & probably a few spots in Canada or something (it would probably be a long trip). I’ve traveled so many places overseas & seen so many wonderful things there (not that I don’t want to see more) but haven’t seen much of the states. I’ve never even been to New York! So that’s my current dream…followed closely by exploring more of Europe (possibly on a bicycle with my love).
I love all your finds, maps are so exciting to me! I’m using a lot of exclamation points, oy.
I would love to roadtrip around America, with my friend who was born in Texas and lived in California before moving out here, and also interailing around Europe would be fab! It’s where you get a train ticket valid for the whole of Europe, and travel through summer, staying at youth hostels and the like.
My vacation destination list is so long. You got to see some of the places I want to go when I did my guest post for Stephanie last week. Croatia seemed to surprise alot of people! I have heard amazing things, so that is a place I’d like to visit. I really want to visit Eastern Europe! I’ve heard Turkey is beautiful! There are so many places, though!
Your vacation get away sounds dreamy, too. I would love to do a relaxing beach get away, but those kind of trips are trips i reserve for someday when I *hopefully* have an awesome husband to bring along. :) I like to travel alone, but I don’t think I could do the beachy type destination solo for some reason!
The scenario you imagined is fantastic, and sounds like a dream. I somehow imagined the song Riviera Life by Caro Emerald as its soundtrack. Maybe you’d like it =)
I am dreaming of visit Thailand, Australia or, a bit nearer, Greece.
Have a nice weekend Kyla!
