Friday Finds are Planning for the New Year no. 53
One of my favourite things is getting organized, especially when I can partner that with having beautiful illustration to admire. Illustration ranks up there with super powers to me- I would much rather be able to draw whatever I have in my mind than leap tall buildings in a single bound. I’ve been getting so excited to get calendars and planners set up for new year that I can’t get them out of my head these days! These are some of the beautiful pieces that have been catching my eye…

For a start, I make myself a new calendar for the next year. This year I am planning to make new pages for my filofax as the shop bought ones never perfectly suited me. If anyone is interested, there should be a tutorial up on my blog in a bit. I already sorted through my belongings, getting rid of some things and clearing up some space for new projects. I am still planning on reflecting on the past year and making some goals for the next one but I still have a bit of time for that.
You’ve made my day… I LOVE CALENDARS!
Oooh! I love ’em all. Especially that last one. I am a huge sucker for calenders of all sorts, and planners and basically anything organizational. I’ve self labeled myself an organization geek. :P
I feel like I need to start everything with an extra-clean house, a stocked fridge/pantry, and all of the organization I can muster. That “clean slate” feeling at the beginning of the year is so nice!
I like calendars with room for writing – I guess it’s the mom in me :D I always take some time on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day to reflect on the past year – major events, successes, goals, etc. This year I’m doing Radvent (http://princesslasertron.com/2011/11/radvent2011/) in my offline journal – it’s been fun so far! I also usually to Ali Edwards’ (http://aliedwards.com) “One Little Word” – though this year I completely forgot about my word by about March. Oops.
I wish I could draw too! I seriously think that must be so awesome and I hope all good drawers don’t take it for granted :) Great calendars! I always make a list of a few goals for the year- like what things I want to learn to do. Last year blogging was on there so I’m happy to have started that! :)
These are beautiful Kyla! Something like this will make a great gift for people on my Christmas list. Thanks for the idea!
Great selection of calendars.
Some of my rituals are…
(1) I try to wrap all the items I have been procrastinating on before the year is out. When I’ve put off a lot of stuff it tends to drag me down. Thankfully I have still have 30 days to complete my list. ;)
(2) I also tend to do a major clean/purge around my place. Like my to-do’s, clutter or disorganization drags me down. Clean space, clean mind I find. :)
I’ve never been this OCD with planning and staying organized until I got a blog. Now, I’m trying to create notebooks for ideas and possibly topics.. but I can’t stick to it because I get too wrapped in this idea of how perfect I want this planner. I’m crazy, gah.
Hahah, these are some amazing planners!
