Friday Finds are for a Typographic Home
Lately I’ve been completely fixated on decorating- I have a thousand ideas rushing around my head for adding more vintage and handmade elements to my home and I just need to sit down and do some planning! But until I can plan, I can dream so the vintage section of etsy has been seeing a lot of me lately.
I’ve been working on defining my personal style, the style I want my home to have, and the style I want my blog to reflect! Right now I’m in love with pops of rich vibrant colours, and strong typography- and metal elements, especially vintage painted ones…
clockwise from top left:
Hello Recycled Wooden Sign by William Dohman – $38
Vintage Letter F by Old Crow Farm – $25
Vintage Che-Cri Tin by 42 Vintage Birds – $13.50
Mini Goals Chalkboard by Mary Kate McDevitt – $36
I need an accountability buddy who can change the password to my paypal account and talk me down from impulse vintage purchases, it’s official!
I love this! I saw a design show once that featured a typographic coffee table and I instantly fell in love. It was something like this http://geenius.co.uk/desirables/the-alpha-typography-coffee-table/
I love to come here on Fridays to see all the new things you find online. I always need that little bit of inspiration from someone else as I am not quite good getting inspired on my own. ;)
Ooh, I love that tin! Considering snagging it and filling it with Dutch lollies for my (Dutch) mum for Christmas :)
I’m absolutely in love! Thanks for sharing such awesome finds. Wish I still had a place of my own to decorate! The “hello” sign is beautiful!
i need an accountability buddy like that, too. to keep me from buying beautiful, handmade things @ dawanda & etsy … *sigh* but those finds are beautiful and make one happy. you can’t really put a price tag on happy, can you?
Love those! I think I might actually get the Oh Dier “hello” sign in white – we just bought our first home together and we’re moving in a week….would look super cute in the entrance!
I’m getting really into typography too. I actually just put up a little quick n easy felt monogram applique tutorial on my blog today – getting me in the typography mood!! :D
What a cute Hello sign! Wouldn’t say no to that!
Every time you start to get the urge send me a text! I’ll talk you down unless it’s a REALLY good deal.
Thank you SO MUCH for including our hello sign on your lovely blog. We are fans of yours, too!!
Ohhh, I adore the hello sign. I am loving brightly colored bakeware, place settings, and the like. I’m getting boxes of it for Christmas from my mom and grandma. It basically makes me happy just looking at it.
This is such perfect timing because I just spent an hour or so on etsy last night looking for typography stuff! Restoration Hardware has some gorgeous cast iron letters and punctuation for sale but the large ones are $70 each, so I was looking for a less expensive option. I particularly would love an ampersand and an “@” so if you stumble across any of those let me know!
I can’t wait until I have a house to decorate! Sigh!
I’ve been fixated on decorating lately too! For some reason, the fact that our condo has never been decorated since we moved in 2+ years ago never bothered me until I was actually HOME all day. Now we have less money because I’m on mat leave – but I’m spending so much more :D Poor husband …
I’m doing the same thing right now. We’ve been focused on getting the bigger items figured out, but now that we have all of that, now we can buy the decorative items which I’m so excited about!
Those are lovely, Kyla.
I can’t wait until we move (whenever that is going to be, ha!) and I have more room to plan and decorate!
Funny that you write a blog post on typography this morning right after I post my latest type creation! Thank you so much for including our work on your blog – love the aged F.
