Friday Finds are Early Mornings at the Lake
The heat wave is over! The heat wave is over! Oh my goodness, I could just dance in the streets now that the humidity has blown east. This week has been unexpectedly busy, and the incredible heat and humidity made it feel like life was happening in slow motion. And in a rainforest. And while I wouldn’t mind visiting the rainforest, I don’t remember signing up to live in one!
This morning as Jesse & I stepped out onto the porch to take the dogs for a walk, there was a beautiful cool breeze that felt exactly like early mornings spent at the lake when I was little. There’s something about that kind of morning that makes me feel like I have all the time in the world to do whatever I need to do. Since I think we could all use that at the end of a long week, I thought it would be perfect to share a treasury inspired by an escape to the lake…

Today’s treasury is Sunday Brunch at Grandma’s Lake House by Little Brown Pen
Are you wishing there were more hours in today, or counting down the moments until the weekend?
I love those colors. Take the light blue and move it a little more towards a jade color and you’ll have my initial wedding colors. I didn’t end up going with them because the jade color I had was difficult to match (since there are so many close shades that look nearly identical). Beautiful!
I love love LOVE these colors together. This whole collection reminds me of Tiffany’s at Christmas when they wrap the blue boxes with a red bow instead of a white one.
I LOVE this colour combination, and especially that beautiful skirt!
I would love to take you to my parents’ cabin some day! You would love it. And there are some antique shops in the area that you would enjoy perusing, I think!
Great finds! My fave is that blue skirt! Too fun!
Hooray for the heat breaking! We have one more day of it and then tomorrow is SHOULD be normal MN summe rweather. :)
Regarding your question: actually a little bit of both ;) I am wishing for more hours in the day so I can get everything I have planned for later next week done: and I am counting down the hours ’til this weekend as there is something exciting happening then too!! Have a great weekend, Kyla :)
i seriously just need everything here, it’s all so cute! and pretty! and i love them all. you should be a personal etsy shopper :)
I was looking forward to the wekeend but not in the nervous “checking every minute” manner. I’m glad it’s here though.
The heat wave will be over in… oh… late November here in Florida. ;)
And I’m definitely wishing there were more hours in today. Or that I had more motivation to get my to-do list done.
Oh my goodness! I love this list. That blue skirt is so pretty! What I wouldn’t give for a weekend at the lake right now :)
Oh, I know what you mean, during nice long walks at the lake I feel like I have infinite time to do whatever I want, after all, nature doesn’t hurry and yet gets everything done:)
Have a good weekend xx
I am definitely counting down the moments until the weekend. I’m also obsessed with that retro clock.
Beautiful colours! Here, it’s overcast so these cheerful shades are just what our house needs.
Yes, yes, yes! I’m so happy this heat wave is over. We can finally swing open the windows, and not die because of it. ;) I love the colours of the Etsy picks. So perfect.
How about both? Needing more hours and still counting down to the weekend at the same time? I love that color combo, it is one of my favorites for sure.
There is something special about waking early in the morning to catch cooler weather and a gentle breeze as you sip your coffee especially where I live. Recently, we’ve been experiencing 100-105 degree days with no signs of letting up! These finds are gorgeous the pots, the vintage cookbook, and the bright red/blue combo. SIgh. -Lovely-
Could October get here? I’m ready for cooler weather!
what a great collection. the colors are lovely.
i’m actually looking forward to my nap in a few hours. i wake up super early to go to the gym & then take the dogs for a walk. my squished nose pups can’t take all the heat. but i sure am happy the weekend is here.
Loving this color combo at the moment! And while I’m glad your heat wave is over, I’m cursing the one that’s settled here. I live on the East Coast in the States and we’ve got a heat index of 115 degrees (F) for today and tomorrow!
Isn’t that breeze just absolutely delicious?? My inside house temperature has finally dropped below 29 degrees :) Enjoy this ‘cooler’ weekend Kyla! Love the lake inspiration – I have burning {lake love}!
