Friday Finds are “An Emerging Colour Trend!”
One of the wonderful things about working with Leigh-Ann every day is that we’ve gotten to know each other very well- including each other’s idiosyncrasies. One of the big things we tease each other about is our favourite colours. I really like neutral colours paired with layers and texture and she likes bold and vivid colours- and we tend to play fight about it.
Over the past month she’s been bringing new thrift finds into the studio, and many of them have been two shades of blue. But the adorable thing is that whenever I complement her about any of them she says: “Thank you! It’s an emerging colour trend!”. I can never help myself from bursting out laughing and saying “In your head!” in response :)

I’m dedicating this Friday Finds to my lovely business partner who is always
on the cutting edge of what’s new and cool… even if it’s just what’s new & cool to her.
In fact, when I think about it that might make me like her new favourite things even more ;)
Ha! You guys are so funny! I would have to say though that I am a bit like LA–I tend to think that things are an emerging trend when really I just like something a lot:)
These are my favorite colors! In fact, I have to make an effort to buy shirts that aren’t solely blue and turquoise, because I love them so much. Such a great collection! :)
Gorgeous colors!
This is reason why I love Etsy so much. Their homepage lately has blocks of colors items just like this. (Right now it’s a group of dark blue akin to your group of items.) Also they have the ability to search by color which is great for decorating or needing color inspiration. It just lights my brain up. :)
hahah, how cute! i love love love everything blue, it will always be an emerging trend for me :]
I love the relationship you have with Leigh-Ann. So fun! I think you and I are color twins. I prefer things in the neutral family but I do attempt to spice up my outfit with a bright pair of shoes – like the canary yellow flats I wore yesterday or the dark red/marroon pumps I wore on Thursday. But in general, it’s neutrals. And stripes. I adore stripes.
And I adore that j’taime pillow. For obvious reasons. Must buy. Or make. Err, have my mom make it. :) I am so not crafty!
That memo board is beautiful!

J’adore that cushion at the top!! It’s adorably awesome!
Ya silly, this was cute ;) The best is when the two blues are in one thing, like:
– my new bag
– my needlebook
– my nailpolish
– our blanket
– everything possible
Love you Ky, thanks for the special homage :) If I did an collection about you, it would be all grey. Isn’t that the emerging color for prison?
OH the BLUE! I love the color of that powder in the last picture…stunning!
I’m with LA on this one! I’ve convinced myself aqua/teal is an emerging color trend. Even if the reason I think that is because it’s all I buy anymore.
I really love this color combination! Blue is my second favorite color (after pink), especially that shade. And turquoise is always lovely.
Ohhhh my! Blue is my all time favorite color – all shades and those are SPECTACULAR!!! ^_^
I absolutely love the pale blue and am currently wearing a shirt in that colour. I’m totally with Leigh-Anne here, definitely a colour trend and if it isn’t it totally should be!
Haha! How sweet! Blue is one of my favorite colors! I love both of these shades! The whole top row is simply perfection! Also that memo board is so cute! <3
Sorry lovely but I have to side with LA on this one! I think it may stem from the fact that I just can’t pull off pastels in real life :) LOVE the cobalt dress, very Kate Middleton!
I’m with Leigh-Ann and Emily on this one – but I have a soft spot for any and all shades of blue. :) And LA is right on the button, cobalt blue was listed as a fashion trend for Spring 2011.
Also, the two of you sound like you have a fantastic relationship! What a happy work environment.
I’m totally with you on the cobalt- I just find it so entertaining that she keeps buying things in a specific colour pairing (sky + cobalt blue) and then saying that it’s a trend, because it’s definitely a trend in the colours that she’s buying and now it’s an emerging trend in the studio! ;)
I just find her adorable from top to bottom, and love bugging her about her quirks- especially because she has such incredible taste and style :)
I <3 this. AND you two! Such a class act :)
What a lovely cobalt color!
You two make me laugh because that sounds exactly like a conversation my best friend Megan and I would have! That wrap dress actually made me say “oh my!”
