Date Day!
I’ve been having a great time and working super hard lately (case and point!), but I haven’t been taking enough dedicated time to have fun with my young husband. So this weekend we decided to make Sunday a day that was just for us… and my camera! We had a great time at brunch, going to antique shops, the art gallery and spending an amazing day together. It was so much fun to know all week that we had this to look forward to, and to set the whole day aside just for us.
I think this is going to have to be a weekly thing :)
That breakfast looks great! Sundays that start with brunch are usually my favorite sort of Sundays.
Oh, Sunday dates sound like such fun! I love all the photos, I think the one of the typewriter is my favorite. :)
You get more and more photogenic every day :)
Cuties!
and SIGH… I love old books. :)
You two are too cute!
I don’t like eggs, but those look delicious!
Ah, I just absolutely SWOON over that photo of the typewriter! :) Chris and I had a date day this past Saturday, much like that. Bouncing in and out of coffee shops and pubs, checking out a new place for dinner, and strolling through our city’s Saturday craft/handmade market. It was heaven! :)
I think its so great that you and Jesse were able to have a date day. That sounds super fantastic and incredibly relaxing.
Also, received the necklace in the mail. Thank you so much! I love it. Can’t wait to send it off to my friend!
I need a date day! You guys are adorable.
What a delightful date day!!!
That food looks delicious and date days are great! Being single I have lots of them with myself! :)
aw, you two are adorable!
Aaw, fun! :) I love days like that with the mister!! I have to trick mine to get him into a thrift shop, though – unless he knows they’ll have motorcycle gear or something…lol.
What a fun day! I am so glad you got to spend some quality time together. And that breakfast? It looks just fabulous!!
I LOVE the idea of an entire date DAY every week – so many more options than just a date night! :)
Awww cute! Date days are so much fun!
I love the look of that breakfast – look at all those eggs! :) Yum!
We made sunday our date day too – late breakfast & then we caught the tram into the city & explored the food & wine festival! So lovely x
LOL at the grammar nazi above. This post did make me google it because I had never thought about it much before! (like “all intents and purposes” that I thought was intensive).
Anyway, I’m so glad you two had a day to yourselves! I adore enjoying laid back dates with Cale, even if it’s just grabbing brunch together on a lazy day. Hope all is well for you two!
That breakfast looks incredible! What a fun day you guys had.
What’s with the paper plate? Uhhh…get some class man.
(hehehe)
Mmm your breakfast looks delicious! Such pretty photos of vintage finds.
You guys are totally, 100% adorable. I love that you carved out a day to have a date! I think it’s so important!
You guys are adorable. Our evenings are pretty holy. We try not to plan anything away from one another on the nights I don’t have class or work. We usually spend them catching up on our DVR or playing videogames after a good homecooked meal.
It’s “case in point.” Just FYI.
lol! You know, I appreciate those comments- so next time don’t be anonymous!
I definitely know that- but that’s what I get for blogging when I’m sleepy! :)
That looks like an amazing day! And I love your pictures – can I ask what kind of camera you use??
i need to get my hands on that little winnipeg city guide! speaking of which, have you seen the one on design sponge? it’s so great – mike and i tried out one of the restaurants on it this weekend!
I did, and I loved it! Which one did you try? :)
lovey’s in st boniface. you probably won’t find many vegetarian options there, but i was in pulled pork/bbq ribs heaven!
That breakfast plate looks DEEElish! Glad you two had such a fun day together :)
Date Days are the best days!
Looks like a wonderful day! Now can we just talk about how cute I think it is that you refer to him as your “young husband”? :)
Wow! I think date days are so important — no matter what the actual activity is! It looks like you two had an absolutely fantastic time. I love the picture of the old typewriter — that one really caught my eye.
Sounds like a lot of fun :) Nathan and I need a day like that in a bad way … babies tend to put an end to dates, at least for the first little while …
It makes me so happy to see married couples who still “date.” Too many couples let this fall by the wayside, I think, & get caught up in everyday banality. I think this is so important – and you guys, of course, are adorable.
That sounds like such a fantastic day, Kyla!
You guys are so cute!! :)
Aww sounds so great! Eric and I had a day like this LAST Sunday and it was fabulous! Leaves you feeling so happy and refreshed to just spend a whole day together having fun. You and Jesse are SO CUTE by the way, love that last photo!! :)
I love this! Awww. Those are the best days. I love your photos of the day too, how fun! There’s a huge antique store in my new neighborhood and I can’t wait to go check it out. On Friday night B & I passed out on the couches in the livingroom, then woke up at 4:30 in the morning. We transferred to the bed, but by this time we were having the best conversation. Before we knew it we’d decided that the one and only thing to do was get up, get dressed, get some steaming hot coffee, and go watch the sunrise at the ocean! We are hardly ever morning people but this wasn’t “getting up early”; nope, this was an adventure! We explored for an hour or two and it was just lovely to be outside, exploring the shores & cliffs together, while the rest of the world was still sleeping.
That looks wonderful! David and I decided that we’d at least try to sit down and have dinner together every Sunday night and talk about the week ahead. That way we can make plans and feel prepared to tackle it together. :)
Definitely super important to have/make time for one another! I love the idea of Date Day! Knight and I try to carve out sometime for just us when we are together: no friends, family, kids. It’s not always easy but even if it’s 30 minutes sitting on the bed and chatting it’s pretty awesome (and makes me feel all grown-up, too). And also? That breakfast looks amazing!
Awww! It’s so nice how you guys make time for each other that way. You’re super adorable together! And that breakfast looks delicious, I want some of that right now!
You guys look adorable (and the food ain’t bad either lol). I just read your post “tiling is for bloggers”, I thought I was the only one having dreams in html lol.
