Friday Feature: Handbag Love

beaskneesheaderBecause I work in and live and die for good design, I’m starting a Friday feature, where I feature design and fashion that I can’t do without. Enjoy!

Big Shoes for New Bag To Fill (Itemized):

  • Handles must not slip off my shoulder when wearing a parka.
  • Handles must be at right length so I can carry the bag on my arm without it looking out of proportion.
  • Material must not freeze & shatter from cold easily.
  • Material must not look like it was made for mountaineers. Or at least stylish mountaineers, damn it.
  • Must fit my lunch bag without allowing it to peek out on the bus and make me look like someone who takes their lunch bag to work.
  • Must NOT be black, no more blacks or grays!
  • Please, please, please, please, please let it be pretty?

$55 at one of my favourite Winnpeg stores!

This is the bag the 2008 – 2009 football pool bought me. Can you see why I like football?

Have a good weekend everyone, I’m at work from 8 am – 11 pm today with another opening night. Ah, the exhilaration of working in the arts! There is champagne to pour, and I’m the girl for the job. Look out!

Today I am also going to be talking a recruiting agency that has contacted me and will be starting to set me up on interviews. That it’s starting to happen is strange, exciting, happy and sad.  In an effort to tempt fate, I informed Mister last night that I have indicated to the agencies I’m speaking with that I will move to Minneapolis, Chicago, or Austin at the drop of a hat if I can get sponsored into the country, and that he’ll have to quit his job and move with me when that happens. He thinks I’m joking, poor boy.  I think he’ll adapt well after the shock wears off.

I’m also going to be attempting to figure out some strangeness that has happened with the paper work of our marriage. Somehow we were never issued an official marriage certificate from the government, and we haven’t been told why – and with all my identification documents in the mail with other government branches things are starting to look like there has been some mistake made along the way. Other parts of the government are requiring the official certificate to process the change, and our marriage from September seems to still be unregistered. I hope it’s not too much of a mistake! If it turns out I’ve been single all this time there will be some serious fist shaking at whoever is responsible. Hopefully I can get it all in hand!
