I love when the weather starts to get colder because something happens to the animals in my life… they become cuddle monsters! It’s like they know the winter is coming and want to be firmly in the good books before the snow flies so they don’t become strays between now and then. Every morning this fall while I’m getting my coffee, the puppies have been milling around, begging for hugs and staring at me with eyes that say “We adore you and being inside when it’s cold out, Lady Who Feeds Us. Do you remember how soft I am? Do you remember how badly you wanted a dog when you lived in an apartment? DO YOU? Of course you do!!”

Of course I do.

Of course I also remember the look the cable customer service girl gives me every time she see’s the number of remote controls we’ve had to replace in the past two years, because she’s charging us for yet another.

But the cuddly little guys always win me over, and this weekend as the sun was setting (so early!) we grabbed the camera and the puppies and ran outside for a play in the last bit of sunshine…

They might be monsters, but at least they’re our little monsters! I can’t wait for the first snow fall, we have their little boots ready to go and they love tearing around in the snow and sliding around like they’re little seals.

ps- I got a hair trim last week and came out with what I’m calling a “fauxmpadour” because it’s not quite a pompadour but I still feel like I should be auditioning for indie girl rock bands. I’m kind of in love with it :)
