A Note From The Nest
This summer at Freckled Nest has been incredible in all senses- we’ve been offered incredible opportunities, felt incredibly supported by & grateful to our clients, and we’ve been working incredibly hard. When I started working with LA last year I was excited for whatever would come my way, but I didn’t know what running a business was going to be like. Half a year later, the work I do in any given day could be anything from managing our online courses, coordinating a large team of freelancers, managing advertising programs for professional bloggers, keeping our internal systems up to date, blogging, or working with my own design clients. It’s so exciting and dynamic, but as our business has continued to grow it’s become clear that it’s the right time for us to find full time help, and that this could be a really special opportunity for the right person.
Later this week, one of my best & oldest friends (Amber!) is moving half way across the country and will start working with LA and I. This month she’ll become our Customer Service Manager & Artist’s Assistant, and while we train her we’ll also be training a new set of designers who we’re excited to be announcing soon. It’s going to give LA + I a chance to have more balance in our lives and more energy for every project we take on. This week is the start of a lot of great things, and it’s surreal to know it’s starting now.
Because there’s so much happening this month I’m going to be sharing more photography posts from behind the scenes photos of my daily life with little stories attached, along with the normal posts about things I love and projects I love to share.
Is there anything you’d like to see or hear about?
I’m a sucker for requests :)
Glad things are going so well for you guys! :)
Ditto to what LA says!!!
eeeek! Thursday’s almost here!! :)
FN is really finding such great success! That’s so wonderful to hear. :)
I’m excited for what’s coming up on your blog this month and I’ll echo what others have said. Behind-the-scenes posts, what a “typical” day is like for you guys, and maybe something on the design process? I know you probably go through all that with your clients but it would be neat for those who are thinking of becoming clients to see what to process entails? Possibly?
Congrats on the continued success to both you and LA! Can’t wait to hear all about Amber and it’s awesome she’s coming to work with such a lovely group of ladies! Ditto to the vlogs, or maybe a DIY hair tutorial for ladies (myself included) trying to grow out their locks and needing some help keeping it cute along the way. You’re always looks super cute and stylish! ;)
Yay! Congrats on expanding your lovley design team and adding your friend Amber to the roster! I’m excited to see these little sneak peaks and behind the scenes type of posts. Expanding on that, I would lovely to see what daily office life is like within realms of the awesome Freckled Nest studio. What’s your typical day like at work? Also, I would really be interesting in seeing maybe a more complete picture of the entire design process between you and a client from the first consult to the finished project (maybe not the very fine details, but the overall process). I’m a blogger who is definitely interested in maybe giving my space of the internet a face-lift in the future and am considering inlisting help, but I feel like I don’t know enough about the whole process. I can’t be the only blogger in the dark about certain aspects, right? Any tips or things to consider before launching into a re-design would be really neat!
Can’t wait to see what is in store!
<3
Yay! I love to see your successes, you guys are very clever. I would love to see the behind the scenes stuff too. My project doesn’t need to be confidential!
So exciting to hear how wonderfully FN is doing, about your new team, and to have one of your nearest and dearest making the move not only to the city but to your work too! I think we should get a tour of the space when everyone’s all settled in :)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. So proud of you guys and this amazing and incredibly SUCCESSFUL business you’ve created. I’m glad you’re taking on more staff so you can delegate and have some downtime – work/life balance is key :) Can’t wait to hear more. I really like your photo/story posts so don’t really have any specific requests!
And vlogs!! :)

I really like Q&A type posts and schedules :)

Congrats on the ongoing success of Freckled Nest!!!
I think miss Amber’s new job sounds like quite a fantastic thing. I’m not sure of specific things that I’d like to see. I am looking forward to reading about your new clients and seeing the designs.
I always love seeing more shots from people’s work spaces, especially when there are projects in progress! My desk tends to get super-cluttered, but I just pretend it’s a sign of productivity :)
I’m also a sucker for photos of coffee shop tables – what drink did you order, did you bring your notebook to sketch or write out plans, and who did you hang out with?
So excited you’re expanding your team! I don’t know Amber but I’ve heard you talk about her so much I feel like I already know she’s going to be a great addition!
Hmm…I love the idea of behind the scenes sneak peeks – maybe pictures of a typical workday – seeing you all in the studio? I love being able to picture where someone is when they talk about doing work. (I didn’t mean for that to sound as creepy as it did!)
