A Little Thistle in the Wild

You know how sometimes when things are busy you get swept up and forget to do the basic things? For me the first thing to go at home is always folding and putting away laundry, and dealing with the dishes in a timely manner. I think the blog equivalent of that is realizing that after the launch of my etsy shop, A Little Thistle, I didn’t update you guys – the wonderful, amazing people supporting me – on how it’s going!

I’m so thankful for everyone’s support, from your kind words to purchasing a piece of the prairies to have in your jewelry box. I’m almost at 50 sales in just over a month, and I’ve been having so much fun making sweet little packages and sending them off to different corners of the world. It’s been an exciting time, and a wonderful change of pace to be working with my hands!

This month I set up a display in one of the local shops I’m going to be selling in- Where The Wool Things Are on Albert St. in Winnipeg’s exchange district, and I wanted to give you a peek inside…

I was so nervous when I was setting up it wasn’t even funny- even though the owner is the sweetest girl, and I’m there for knitting nights every week. It’s something that’s so totally new for me that even just arranging my display was exciting, nerve wracking and exhilarating. I felt like a kid at Christmas- and seeing all of my work in one place was so strange! The only place I’d seen it all together at once was on my computer monitor in my etsy shop!

Where The Wool Things Are is just the cutest- and they have knitting nights every Thursday evening (except Remembrance Day tomorrow!) that are full of wonderful crafty ladies who are all over twitter and make delicious snacks for everyone to enjoy. If you live in Winnipeg, it would be great to see you there next week, and you can see A Little Thistle there in person any day of the week :)
