A Day Away
On Sunday Amber and I went down to Grand Forks on a mini shopping trip to get her ready for her new apartment… which might have turned into a clothing shopping trip! We listened to Bossypants the whole way there and back, and had a really amazing time. We got a great haul from Target- including some really fun nail polish, cute oxfords and some amazing fall cardigans that are making me regret hoping for as indian summer in favour of an early frost.
It was really refreshing to have a little break and get out into the prairie sun.
Equally refreshing? Racing around the accessories section of most northern Target in North Dakota, trying on all the hats I could get my hands on :)
I heart dog butts.
I love trying on accessories at the store with friends :) What a great way to spend the day!
Sounds like a fun day! I never find clothes at target, but I always think I will somehow.
Also, I am completely jealous of the vintage pyrex bowl I spy in the background of your first photo. Love!
Fun!! I really want to go to Target. I remember seeing it as I flew into Chicago and I never ended up going! I must come say hi to Amber some time soon :)
hi im mhay from the philippines. i found your blog when I was googling creativity and i have been back almost everyday catching up on your previous posts. there’s a breeze of positive vibes each time i’m on your page. i wish you more explorations, journeys and catching your dreams.
I wondered if you ended up in Grand Forks when you mentioned heading down to the states to go shopping! ND/MN border town FTW!
What an adventure! Sounds, and looks, like fun!
I love the doggy booty! Also, I loved Bossypants. I wish I had listened to it on audiobook. I am sure you liked it (did you?)
A day with Bossy Pants & Target sounds like a well rounded great day! I had some real laugh out loud moments while reading Tina Fey’s book. Good stuff.
I looove Target and I loooove Bossypants! Excellent choices :)
Did you love the book??
um – a) that first picture — I want to eat it off my monitor. Like for reals. b) yay for target! It’s my mecca
I’m so addicted to Target. They just have so much cute, fun stuff. I can’t get enough and can’t ever go in one without coming out with a bag full of pretty things I didn’t have any intention of getting.
I can tell your dog misses you very much! Look at the longing and attentive way he’s at the window!
we have a schipperke mix and she does the same thing, though also with some howling (but it is low volume and short-lived, which makes it cute)
So funny to hear u say u went across country lines for target. I must say it’s worth it. :)
This sounds like an absolutely delightful and relaxing day away! I hope y’all enjoyed yourselves and soaked in the beautiful weather. If you start missing the summer too much, I can send some of it your way! ;)
My guy and I are already making out our shopping lists for the next time we hit up Grand Forks! Watch out Target & Kmart! It’s amazing how much fun two guys can fit in the trunk of a Mazda 3!
It makes me smile and want to laugh at the hilariousness at the reality that you have to cross the border to go to Target. Im glad that you were able to get away for a bit to relax and have some fun.
Ooo, how fun! Makes me long for a shopping trip with a friend. Glad you had a fun day! And thanks for the tip on fall cardis at target.. I might just have to over there soon ;)
This sounds like a fun trip. Target usually means an empty wallet for me, so I can imagine all the goodies you brought home.
That sounds like such a wonderful trip. Road and shopping trips are always so much better when shared with a great friend.
Oh, what a wonderful, wonderful girls’ trip! I am so jealous :) but equally happy for you and Amber and the fun day that you had!
What a fun trip! I love love LOVED Bossypants – hope you two enjoyed it as well! And Target trips are the best kind of bonding!!
I got some great fall cardigans at Target too! Oh Target. And Chipotle. And Trader Joe’s. Those 3 things combined make me *almost* want to move to the States. Then again, they might not be as appealing if I had super easy access to them?
no, they’re still appealing even if you do live in the states :-) I love Target! it’s my happy place. sadly, my husband does not feel the same way. but, for my birthday he went with me and didn’t complain when I wandered around. true love!
